Perfect through Patience
Genesis 17:1 KJV And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Abraham after yielding to His wife’s suggestion to have an affair with Hagar, the Egyptian maid was given the above instruction by God.
God is perfect in all His ways and to receive His promises over your life, you have to be perfect. Deuteronomy 18:13 KJV Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.
The reason why the promises of God is not fulfilled in our lives is that we haven’t been perfect in our walk with God.
Just like Abraham, we go to Egypt for help which is the beginning of a man of the Spirit’s undoing. Isaiah 31:1 KJV Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!
Patience helps us to be perfect before God. Why do you think God is God? He is God because He is most patient. Waiting for us to discover His purpose for our lives. He is always there waiting for a Sinner to repent. Most of us can’t tolerate our siblings and friends who are unbelievers and want to come to the knowledge of Christ. You aren’t patient enough to let God work on your bad habits. You aren’t patient enough to let God work on your faith by reaping off all financial assistance and making you depend on Him alone.
James 1:3-4 KJV Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
To receive the perfect gift from the perfect God. You have to be perfect.
Let us pray: Father, help me to be patient so that I will be perfect.
