Who’s your Helper?
Psalm 146:5 KJV Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:
The number of the depressed is on the increase in the society because of high expectation placed in friends, families and others.
No man is an island unto himself. No one can without the help of another survive on earth.
A baby needs the mother to care, feed and do other things for him/her. Likewise the mother needs the father to provide for the needs of the need of the baby and mother. The man can’t do without those he makes his earnings from and the employers can’t do without an employee. We all need each other. I guess that made us kind of dependent on each other. So we look up to those who are around us for help in times of need.
Looking unto people around you for help will only make you unhappy. The Word of God is perfect. It clearly stated that, “Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:”. Which means, “Unhappy is he that does not have the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is not in the Lord his God:”
Now you know the reason for many being unhappy. The reason why we are embittered against each other.
Some may want to actually help but they have their own challenges and you can’t expect them to leave theirs and take up yours. I’ve heard people say, “but he is very rich and connect and should’ve helped me but didn’t.”
Change your thought about help and only fix your heart whenever you are in need on God. Psalm 146:3-4 KJV Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
When your expectation in man is high, your fall will be great.
Let us pray: Father, help me to put my help in you.
