Proverbs 23:23 KJV Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
A girl was having a can of orange drinks and she was complaining of how she is desperate to exchange it for a snack that’s not worth the value of the orange drink. She knew that the value of the snack isn’t worth that of the drink and so she was contemplating as a brother was trying to convince her to do the exchange.
At that point the Spirit of the Lord made me understand that so many of us are like this sister. We have something invaluable, a treasure beyond measure but we are clamouring for and running after the valueless.
Matthew 13:44 KJV Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. The children of the world are wise in the sense that they can expend all their resources to acquire treasure and they don’t trade it.
We are the light and shouldn’t trade our light for the pleasure of the world. Don’t trade your light because of life’s challenges. The world and its pleasure are ephemeral but the Truth which is Christ is forever.
Only a fool will place a higher value on the temporal and exchange it for the everlasting.
Let us Pray: Father, help me to hold onto the Truth till the end.
