Pleasing man or God?

Ephesians 6:6-7 KJV Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

One of the Cancers in our world today is politics. You find it in every organisation. It has gotten so deep into our system that the Church has consciously and unconsciously embraced it. Justifying it with the Bible even as it doesn’t really align with their definition of it.

The choir wants to sing to receive accolades from men. The Preacher at every sermon wants to hear, “ride on Pastor.” The Usher wants the praise, gifts and connection from the influential that attends service. The sound engineers want to have people’s attention. Sanctuary keeper works hard to be recommended for ordination. Everyone is working hard but with an ulterior motive.

God had and will never be indebted to anyone. He keeps His promises. Most Christians aren’t blessed because they are not serving God even in His Church. Their service is to their Pastor and Superiors. And the ones they are serving don’t have the capacity to reward them.

It took me long years unrewarding service unto man to know the difference. Ever since I got the understanding that Church service is for God and not men. I changed my motive and have been blessed by this able God that I serve.

If you are fond of doing it your Pastor’s way and you know it’s not God’s way. You have been serving your Pastor. If you come for service so the Pastor won’t visit you and ask you (twenty-one) 21 questions for not attending Church, you are wrong. Your act of service must be out of Your love for God. And not from the fear of your Pastor.

Now that you have gotten this knowledge. I want you to change your motive in your service to God. No one has the ability and capability to reward you in any way in Your act of service to God other than God.

You can’t work for men and expect to be on God’s payroll.

Let us Pray: Father, help me to channel my service in your house towards you alone.
