You are an extension of God’s hand
Proverbs 3:27-28 KJV Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
Most people believe everything they work for is absolutely theirs. And that they can decide to do anything with their labour proceeds. They have forgotten that it is God that blesses the works of our hands. He is the one that makes our labour productive. Psalm 127.
It is foolish to think of it as, “I own everything and can do anything I want with my money.” You can ask the “Rich Fool” about this in Luke 12:16-21.
Every time you are blessed to have in abundance, you have been made the extension of God’s hands to some others who are in need. Deuteronomy 15:11 KJV For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
Being an extension of God’s hand is not limited to the monetary aspect. It could also be your intellect, prayer and many more other ways.
As God is our very present help in time of need Psalm 46:1. He wants you to be timely in attending to those who are in dire need around you.
God withdraws His hand from an extension of His hand that refuses to function as timely help to those who are in need.
Let us pray: Father, help me to be a sensitive and timely extension of Your hand.
