I John 4:19: We love him, because he first loved us.
Respect is reciprocal. It is also a good thing when you love someone and the person loves you back. These words have been spoken by many men of renown and performed as a song by many artists. The sad truth is that these words and the tunes of the song have had their ways into our ears and have not been able to find a place of abode in our hearts.
We preach love, talk about love, sing about how we are in dire need of love, but our hearts are far from it. Our actions show that within the next decade. The word love will be a history and will only find expression in our books. Leaving us with fading memories and fantasies in our hearts.
The good news is that as long as God exists. Love will never be a thing of the past. There will always be a generation, a called-out, a separated sect who will continue to fly the banner of Love. If only we understand that God is love. We will know that there is no way we can eradicate love.
I’ve heard people talk about old-time love and how our world of today do not have the capacity to bear it. If only we can start by bringing back this memory. And allowing it to transform us.
One of the tools the devil is using against the Christians of today is our mind. II Cor. 6:12 KJV Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels. This Bible passage reveals that the only limitation we have exists in our minds. You have set a wall in our hearts. The wall is so high that whenever you come across someone. The first thing that crosses our minds is, “don’t be deceived, he might be an agent of the devil.” Little did you know that the discerning spirit has no thoroughfare in the wall too. Rather than allow the discerning Spirit to work, the wall is at work. And this could make you miss the opportunity of the ministry of angels.
Do you love God? How high is your passion for the lost souls? I John 4:20. If you are sincere with yourself. You will realise that you don’t love God enough or at all. Reciprocate God’s love today!
Love isn’t cheap. Its price tag is a sacrifice. And sacrifice isn’t always easy.
Let us pray: Father, help me to love indeed.
