Well of Riches
Philippians 4:19 KJV But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
People try all they can to get the attention of men in power, the rich and men of influence. Even the ones who find it hard to feed try all they can to give to these people so as to incur favour from them. They want to be remembered whenever these men are awarding contracts. They want to be remembered when there is a vacant position of office. They want to be the first that these men will be thinking of.
There is a similar practice in the Kingdom of God. A look at Proverbs 19:17 KJV He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord ; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. The giving here is directly to those who cannot repay your kind gesture to them. Luke 6:34 KJV And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
If you carefully read Philippians 4 some verses before 19 reveals the ceaseless and unbridled giving of the Philippians. That’s why Paul prayed the prayer in verse 19 for them.
The giver who gives to those who can repay and the one who gives to those who can’t have some things in common:
It’s not always easy when they give.
They both have expectations; one expects from man who is limited in resources while the other expects from the Sourceless Source.
They will both be rewarded; one will be rewarded one earth only while the other will be rewarded on earth and in Heaven.
Why not make a choice to give to the one who has well of riches and never denies when it’s time to reward you today? Isaiah 45:3 KJV And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
The best partnership is with God.
Let us pray: Father, do not let me shut my eyes against the needy.
