He is in control
Rev. 1:17 KJV And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
There are 4200 religions in the world as of today. I believe some are not in the records while some we still join the train. Their leaders could contain some things but at some point lost control. Many made promises and could fulfil those promises, but a greater feat of it couldn’t become a reality because it was beyond their capacity.
De Lawrence, a popular author and publisher of some occult and spiritual topics who had many followers while he was alive and after his death. He could have been the second man who resurrected like Jesus but lost control. His followers believed him so much and never doubted him when he said he will rise on the third day like Jesus the Messiah. He rose and was amidst the air on the third day, but thunder struck him, sending him back to his grave.
Jesus is the first and the last. The Alpha et Omega. Who could know the end from the beginning if not the author? Before death and Hades he had been.
He told Martha, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” John 11:25 KJV. He proved it instantly with the life of Lazarus. (Though He was talking about a greater resurrection). Many of these religion founders performed like Jesus in raising the dead but later lost control as they couldn’t prevent themselves from dying. Some couldn’t assure their followers of the afterlife. They could only perform here on earth without the eternal hope.
Jesus the Messiah is also the only one who left us with a comforter, the same Spirit that will make His disciples to function like and even more than He did.
We may not fully understand the reality of resurrection now. But we will understand it better when the Firstborn of the dead, the Author and Finisher of our Faith, Jesus the Messiah raise us up from the dead. Seeing our fathers in the faith and many of the women of faith. With joy immeasurable, we will embrace them with tears running down our cheeks.
He went to the Hades to clean up our names from the list.
Let us pray: Father, don’t let me rewrite my name in hell with my actions.
