You don’t have to be coordinated.
Psalms 100:1 KJV: Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Noise can’t be coordinated and you’ll be shocked that it’s one the recommended way to praise God.
It’s so sad that we spend more time coordinating sounds and when a detail is lost during presentation it distracts us. Sometimes we worship leaders feel bad for the mistake made during praise and worship and wish to shift time and space to correct the error.
A few of us understand the fact that worshipers aren’t necessarily good singers. With the little years I’ve spent in the songs ministry. I have seen people without much of a good voice control, perfect pitch and sonorous voice command the presence of God. While the pitch perfect, well coordinated singer entertained us and never made a mark in the spirit. There is this particular program I attended last year. I was disappointed after all the jamboree by a popular Christian Artiste but for another man of God who made a shift in the atmosphere.
I’m not discouraging anyone from making a skillfully coordinated music but rather challenging us to spend more time with the spirit for alignment and a good command of the presence of God. Coordinated music helps the audience to quickly ascend in the spirit undisputed but care must be taken not to do this at the detriment of quality worship.
I believe the uncoordinated worship in the spirit will yield results than a coordinated show of skills, pride and competition eating up the worship team of today.
It is better to understand that our worship is not unto any man but unto God who is greater than any man. So it’s good to have the attention of God who can build you a city, than a man who can’t lift you higher than the reach of his hands.
Men can love the quality of your worship and applaud you. You might even be gifted a car or mansion but God can do much more. He can give you a value than will make you the head of nations like the case of David the shepherd boy who became the ruler of Israel.
My advice to us is to focus more on who we are giving the worship to than the ones we are leading to His presence.
Muse: If men aren’t made to speak, God will still understand our worship because it’s the heart of worship that matters not the sound.
Let us pray: Father, restructure my heart to give you quality worship.
