1 Samuel 16:7 KJV: But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Appearance can be misleading most times. If a rich man is in a simple wear with bathroom slippers, many would have almost mistaken him for a street rat.
Many of us spend a fortune buying beauty products which take care of our outward appearance. We stock our wardrobe with trending wears and appear gorgeous. We spend more time before the mirror, watch our weights amongst many other things we do to look presentable. Yes, we attract people to ourselves this way but have been unable to keep these lovely people because we seldom care about our inner personality.
When we get into relationships, we hardly sacrifice some of our habits to keep such. We keep telling friends and loved ones, this is me, you can’t change me, accept me for who I am. These words have helped some bag degrees in multiple relationships in months and awarded short relationship keepers.
Whenever I think about how bad we have become a packaged Garbage in this generation, I weep bitterly.
My marketing lecturer back in those days would jokingly, “a well packaged garbage in the market will sell compared to a good product not well packaged.” This is true to human beings but it’s impossible to deceive God.
He is the God that knows the heart of everyone. He doesn’t have to scan you to know your intentions. He saw the motive of Esau when presenting his offering. He knew king Saul was selfish and full of himself. He saw the heart of the Pharisee who brought his tithe and offering to the temple and knew that the widow gave her all.
Stop pretending in the presence of your marker. Open up yourself to Him so he can transform you. Tell him how bad your anger is, though he knows already. Tell him how you are unable to maintain peace with all because of pride and selfishness. Empty yourself of the garbage before the cross and see how He will stuff you with goodies. He will add values that will make people search for you always.
Muse: Why will you be a packaged garbage when you can be packaged value?
Let us pray: Father, I trade all garbage with value.
