Don’t Cry For Your Lost Glory!
St. Matthew 27:31KJV: And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
There are different kinds of glory and many definitions based on the understanding of the schools of thoughts that defined it. Some define glory as fame or honor gotten from great accomplishment. Some believe it is magnificence or great beauty. These are the two encompassing definitions that I found.
I have heard many people cry over their lost glory and beg God to recover it for them. I believe they are right based on their understanding of what glory is. And I’m also right if I tell you not to cry for or go after your lost glory.
During our June edition of TRUWEX of this year. In the deep ocean of worship. “What do you need your glory for?” Came out of my mouth and as much as I tried to hold it back I couldn’t but repeated it for as long as I couldn’t remember. The ones who were present online and at the studio will remember. Days later I was made to understand better what the statement meant.
Ananias the prophet was scared to go to Saul after being instructed by God to go pray for him because of his fame as a persecutor. Acts 9:13. David was just a shepherd who never dreamt of anything greater. His glory was busy in the wilderness with the sheep. Elisha was living large as a herdsman.
The robe of Jesus is so special that the soldiers could not tear it. The soldiers played a lottery to release it to a winner. Matt. 27:35. It is symbolic to your glory. The glory you had before going to the cross. The glory you had before giving your life to Christ. It has to be taken away. The world may value it but you can’t appreciate it anymore. You used to be a famous Artiste but Christ wants to make you a great Artiste.
John 20:14 confirmed that Mary never knew it was Jesus. The glory is greater than the terrestrial glory. It is the celestial glory.
Imagine having that glorious Christ in you. Col. 1:27. What else do you want? Is it that old glory of yours or the new Glory?
Muse: Your glory will make you famous but Christ the hope of Glory will make you Great.
Confession: Father, I lay my glory down and embrace Jesus the Christ.
