The Fire, the Hammer and the Rock.
Jeremiah 23:29 KJV: Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Fire is a reformer. Whatever it touches never remains the same. In like manner, a hammer is a tool used to structure and restructure whatever it’s used on. It also has the ability to change the appearance of whatever the professional who is making use of it wants to use it for. It can also be destructive to the user or whatever it is used on when a novice handles it.
A rock signifies a seemingly insurmountable challenge. It is time consuming, energy sapping and also requires being intentional to overcome it.
Before the invention of bombs used in quarries, breaking of rocks was a very tasking thing to do. Fire has to be made on the rock to generate heat after which the hammer can be used on the rock. If it was not set on fire and heat generated, it will be such a herculean task to deal with.
God is perfect in the use of illustrations and it’s a proven fact that illustrations help in assimilation. The best way God could make His people understand His words was to give examples of things they see everyday. The teaching style used by most teachers today.
God’s word is potent and powerful. It’s capable of bringing down any mountain (Mk. 11:23). All you need to do is speak the Word and it is done. There is no mountain physical or spiritual too big for the creator of the heavens and the earth to deal with. He made them and can destroy any mountain that is a limitation to His child.
One of the ways by which a child of God provokes results in the place of prayer is to use God’s Word. He is fidelity. His Word is exalted above His name (Ps. 138:2). His Word is powerful. It is the fire and the hammer that breaks the rock of problems, challenges, troubles, failure and anything that limits His children.
If there is a life that is like a rock, a heart of stone that needs to be restructured to receive the deep things of God. You can cry out to God concerning such for a regeneration. Remember, the heart of kings is at His disposal (Prov. 21:1).
Muse: If men who aren’t the creators can break mountains. How much more the creator of man, mountains and everything in existence.
Let us pray: Father, I command every limiting mountain to shift as I forge ahead in Jesus name.
